BREEDINGPLANS & PUPPIES 2012

In 2012, we expect both Groenendael- and Tervuren-litters.
You can see the actual combinations below, when they are decided.
If you are looking for puppies, you should also take a look here: other puppies

We expect Tervuren-puppies medium February 2012 - and we also plan Groenendaels for 2012 - below you can find a lot more info concerning our plans, when they are decided.

TERVUREN-LITTER *WINTER/SPRING 2012*
Selected for breeding DE, test of character, DCH (VDH) Figo vom Lambertshügel
HD: A1 - ED: 0. HD-index 80 (numbers <100 are improving the HD-status of the breed)
Coeur-Ami Milady HD: A - ED: 0

The upcoming parents of this litter mated on December 15 & 16, 2011, so if all works out, we expect a happy and lively bundle of Tervueren-pups in week 7, around February 15, 2012. This means, that the pups may move from home from week 15, that is during the second week in April, 2012.

For this litter, we have chosen a German male, almost 7 years of age, Figo, who is recommended for breeding in Germany, which means that he has been approved both for his mentality and his exterior according to the German rules of DKBS. Figo also achieved the German Championship.

Figo is described by his owner here: "He is a very strong male with much self-confidence. I can't remember, that he has been afraid of anything. If he meets other males, he will try to be the boss, but he is also able to accept a subordinate role to another dog. You can say, he is really a male.
Figo is a very good familydog, he lives together with our Groenendal female, Nala, and two cats. We also have a 5 months old baby. Figo delights in everybody, who is visiting us. He has a very nice character and a good health
".

Figo also has very nice statistics of health from the German Club of Belgian Shepherds, DKBS. We have been interested in his father's line before, and from his mother's line, we know his grandfather very well, Lubanja's Vision, who has proved to be an outmost impressive male in breeding in regard to all aspects. Vision is raised in Belgium, and died in January 2012 at the age of 14 years and 4 months. This litter is a little linebreeding to Vision, as he will become one of the great-grandfathers on both the mother's- and the father's side of the litter.

Vision's father, Turke van de Leienevel (on the photos above), we knew personally, as we met him in the year of 2000 and on a regular basis to his death of old age. Turke was an amazing male, who in character and in looks reminded us very much of Bjarkarima Loke, the Belgian Tervuren when he posses all the best qualities, you can imagine!

Milady is a daughter of Izola and a granddaughter of Bunny, so besides a balanced character and excellent health, she represents a line of Belgian Shepherds, that we know for their many qualities and have followed for many years. Actually, we personally know the dogs behind this line back to the great-great grandmother of Milady, Quiette van Hof ter Brughe.

Milady is a lovely, balanced and all-the-way-through good girl, born in March 2008. She is an extrovert, curious and happy dog, who is best friends with all people and social towards other dogs and animals. Besides, she is very well functioning in new environments. Milady has achieved Excellent at show. This will be the first litter of Milady. The entire M-litter and their half-siblings from the N-litter
, see M-pups / M-litter info and N-pups / N-litter info, have proven to be very healthy, in physics as well as mentally, and we are looking forward to bringing this line forward in breeding.

We know many of the dogs in the pedigree of this litter, and we have nice expectations of what they may bring beforehand. Thus, we expect pups with super temperaments, a nice Belgian breedtype and sound health, suited for all kind of dogsports, incl. show, and for well-functioning familydogs. We expect both fauve and grey/sable pups in the litter, and look forward to again having Tervuren-pups with us, after having had years of almost only the colour black :o)

You can follow the making of the puppies in their diary here. Do you like to see the pedigree of the pups, take a look here: V-litter pedigree.
Here you can follow the first 8-12 weeks of the pups' life with us, after they have been born, and that also goes for individual photos of each puppy: V-puppies.

TERVUREN-LITTER *SPRING 2012*
Unfortunately Choran is not available for breeding at the moment, so we are on the outlook for another male. More info, when we are decided!
Dione van't Sparrebos HD: A from France - HD: B from Belgium.
X-ray and attestation of healthy elbows, 4 years of age

Dione (see eventually here) is a daughter of Lubanja's Yvor (photos below), our own classic Tervuren-male, raised in Belgium by Anny & Marcel De Prez-De Goedt, kennel Lubanja's.

Yvor is still going strong and turned 12 years of age in 2011. He is healthy and lives a good life as a pensionist with Anne-Grethe and Steen.

Dione is Belgian breeding, when it's best. She reminds us quite much of her grandmother, Qreole de la Quiévre, and is mentally just as strong. Also, she has good looks and kind character from her parents. This litter will be the third and last from Dione, as she has become 7 years of age in December, 2011.

In our breeding, Dione has had the R-pups / R-litter info - the photos above is of them; and she also had a litter in Belgium, before she came to live in Denmark. We have had very nice reviews on her first two litter of pups both from Belgium and Denmark, especially for their working-qualities and their nice temperaments - and we expect no less of this litter.

We expect puppies with a super character and sound health, who will be suited for all kinds of dogsports incl. show, and for well-functioning familydogs.

You can follow the making of the puppies in their diary here. Do you like to see the pedigree of the pups, take a look here: W-litter pedigree.

PUPPIES IN THE PAST

If you would like to see our former litters during the time, we had the puppies with us, take a look here: LITTERS

OUR PROCEDURES REGARDING PUPPIES

We are very attentive of the importance of a proper pre-socialization (3 till 6-7 weeks) - and later on socialization (7 to 12-13 weeks) of our puppies. The puppies are being brought up in the house in close daily contact with us - and as many visitors as possible during their time with us. We have made a nice big puppy-yard split up in three parts, where the pups can play under roof, inside a building, and outside in a fenced yard. Thus, they have lots of opportunities to stimulate their curiosity and develop their body-control. The puppies are in contact with our other dogs when they reach the proper age for it, which usually is around 5 weeks of age. Besides we "sound-train" the pups through a CD with sounds of -fireworks, -thunder, -shots, -children, -traffic, and so on; sounds which might cause problems for dogs, if they have not been introduced to them in an early age. We stimulate the pups' desire to use their hunting-instinct and their nose by playing ball with them and throwing pieces of goodies in the house and garden starting at the age of 5-6 weeks, where the primary development of these senses is taking place. Finally, all the puppies are getting used to our car and - in small portions - are taken on socializingtrips along with their mother, when they reach the age of 6-8 weeks in order to become acquainted with other environments than that of their home.

The mother of the puppies is vaccinated just before the mating takes place or in the last trimest of her pregnancy in order to protect the pups best possible against parvo and distemper; she also is given anthelmintic several times before the puppies are born. The puppies and their mother are given anthelmintic twice before leaving us. The puppies are carefully fed with high-quality food (Eukanuba/Royal Canin) and sour-milk products from the age of 3 weeks

We have all the pups tested for mentality, because we believe that the test contributes to match the pups with the best suited new owner, and all our puppies also are supposed to go through a young dogs mentality test, when they are between 1 and 2 years of age. We also would like the new owners of our puppies to let them undergo x-ray for HD (hip dysplasia) and AD/ED (elbow artrosis), because this contributes to our knowledge of the state of health in our breeding.

The puppies are sold with a written agreement, guarantees, food for the first days in their new home, their puppy mentality test, and some specified demands for the owner, among those to keep us opdated concerning the dog. The pups are selected in consultation with us, so the pup and the new owner are matched best possibly and for that purpose, they undergo a mentalitytest around 7 weeks old, before they are selected for their new owners.

If you are interested in a puppy from us for breeding, we have specific demands for you, among others that we may guide you as a breeder.
Please take contact.

If you like, you are very welcome to come by and visit, see our dogs, or just have a talk about dogs.
